Clearance of the Bomb Craters by BTCV - 30th Nov, 1st, 13th & 14th Dec 2011
As part of a Big Lottery "Awards for All" grant, British Trust for Conservation Volunteers (BTCV) were tasked with clearing silt and organic debris from within and around the bomb craters, to improve the pond habitat. Some new under-storey planting was also carried out to encourage new colonies of amphibians and invertebrates.
FHW are very appreciative of the efforts made by BTCV members, who work with great enthusiasm and energy.
